Fuel Up

When exercising, it is important to take into account that food is fuel and you need to eat. Before physical activity, carbohydrates are key to performance. Some examples of good carbs to eat include whole-wheat toast, whole grain pasta, brown rice, and fruits/vegetables. Carbs are good because they will give you energy before engaging in a tough workout. After exercising, it is important to take in some protein because it helps your body recover faster. Some examples of good protein to eat after working out include eggs, greek yogurt, chicken, and protein bars (my favorite). Hydration is also important, so making sure that you drink water as you workout is also critical. Fueling up for exercising will lead to a more successful workout.

You need the energy to start a workout and definitely to recover faster when you're done. I think foods like eggs, greek yogurt, etc. are all really good for after a workout. Not only are they nutritious, but they are low on calories so you don't gain bad weight from it.
